River Vision
Our church vision is to be at the EDGE, as close as possible, to the heavenly RIVER of life in Christ.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:1-2
Jesus said, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life." Revelation 21:6
> Being at the "River" means to seek life through the Lord I heaven, as the source of life. As a church we want the fresh flow of life directly from God the Father. A river is alive, not stagnant. Where water flows, life grows. At the river's edge is where you find the tree of life, with the healing of the nations. > Being at the "Edge" means getting as close as possible, drawing near to the Lord. We want to overcome anything that would separate us from knowing Him to the fullest. It's our desire to be full of the Holy Spirit to overflow - filled to the rim with His life. We are seeking freshness in life by knowing God, others, and ourselves. It's an adventure of the heart as we explore the spiritual river of life. We invite you - Jump in!Life on the River has five purposes:
Reach our community with the Water of Life
Include new people into the church family
Venture deeper into knowing God
Equip each person with Christ's guiding Truth
Release our gifts and callings through teamwork
Jesus said "new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35
As a church we work to include each person into a small group, class or ministry team. In a smaller setting that people can make genuine friendships, care for one another, and grow spiritually together. Purpose 3. To VENTURE to deeper spiritual depths in the River of the Lord. We want to continually build our relationship with the Lord Himself - to know Him more. As a church the Lord is our source of power.Jesus replied, '"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." Matt 22:37-39
As a church we make prayer and Worship is at the center of all we do. Purpose 4. To EQUIP ourselves for a lifelong journey with the teachings of Christ. The words and example of Jesus are the guiding truths that teach us how to weather the storms of life.Jesus said,"Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Matthew 7:24
As a church family, we are responsible to train up children, youth and adults in the ways of Christ, the teachings of the Bible, and model excellent living at church and at home. Purpose 5. To RELEASE our spiritual gifts and callings. As witnesses, we use spiritual gifts, to advance the Lord's kingdom by. By the power of the Holy Spirit we can change the world. We want to out-pour of the River of Life that the Lord has poured into us.Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
As a church we help believers find their calling through a series of teachings called discovery classes and discipleship courses. This process, as well as opportunities for ministry involvement, allow each one to follow their God given passion to serve the Lord as a church team.
